L. “Bo” Bowman

Commissioner/Founder

BIO

I am a Retired Army Sergeant. I served for more than seven years, in the Veterinary Corp., before an injury and medical condition forced me into retirement. I loved serving my Country and I still miss it every day.

I took an Oath to serve and protect this country, it’s that Oath, my love for America, and discovering that my ancestors were instrumental in the creation of it, gave me the incentive to develop this league; an idea so simple and so crazy that it will change women’s sports forever.

Little League softball saved my life; it gave me structure, guidance, and a family. It also taught me accountability and camaraderie. I am forever grateful to this sport and I believe that this league will give hopes and dreams to thousands of little girls just like me.

My ancestor, John Bryan Bowman, is the founder of the University of Kentucky. He had to fight to donate his own land and he never backed down. He believed the University was important for future Americans so he fought all who opposed him and he won! The University of Kentucky is still on Bowman land and the home, where he raised his family, is still standing on campus.

BIO

I grew up in Westwood, a small town in Northern California, where I played sports throughout middle and high school—six years of volleyball, two years of softball, and one year of basketball. After graduating in 2019 with a class of just ten, I earned my Associate’s Degree in Communications from Shasta Community College in 2021, right as COVID restrictions were lifting.

In the fall of 2021, I transferred to Sacramento State University to pursue a Bachelor’s in Film Production. During my time there, I interned with the Athletics Marketing Department, which sparked my passion for sports marketing. I graduated in 2024 with my degree in Film Production and a Marketing minor.

After graduation, I joined the Yolo High Wheelers in the Pioneer Baseball League, helping them win their inaugural championship season. I then moved to the sales team at Sacramento Republic FC

My journey has been one of growth, opportunity, and passion for the magic found in the world of sports, and I’m excited to see where I can help bring that magic to American Women’s Pro Sports.
